Night Hymns was a one-man melodic black metal band, inspired by early 1990s songs by Satyricon and Mayhem.
In December 1996 Danny wrote the first song for what later became the Night Hymns project. Until September not much was done with it, but in Autumn 1997 the song got recorded using a drum machine. Throughout 1998 and early 1999 two more songs were written. A keyboard was used to create the drum parts and the first song got a new drum track as well. Recordings for the three songs took place in early March 1999, around the full moon, with additional recordings during Summer 1999. Mixing was done April 19, 2000, while the first written song got remixed on October 12, 2001. The recordings were not released.
